CIO 100

UPS was recognized by IDG's CIO Magazine as a recipient of the CIO 100 Award for the successful deployment of its On-Road Integrated Optimization Navigation (ORION) analytics software.

Best Machine-to-Machine Implementation — Consumerization of IT in the Enterprise (CITE) Awards

Auto Arrive and Depart, a push-button communication between the mobile computers in UPS tractor trailers and the dispatch office at package sorting facilities that relays what is being brought into or removed from the property. This machine-to-machine (M2M) functionality replaces a manual process involving telephones and manual keying of information, saving time multiplied across tens of thousands of entrances and exits per day. Also provides near real-time ETAs of vehicles to UPS locations.

The UPS George D. Smith Prize for 2014

The winners of the 2014 award is the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Leaders for Global Operations Program (LGO).  LGO is a two-year dual degree program.  Upon graduation, its students receive an MBA or MS from the MIT Sloan School of Management and an MS from one of seven MIT engineering programs.
