Business Monitor Latin America
UPS Business Monitor™ Export Index Latin America
Launched in September 2014, The UPS Business Monitor™ Export Index Latin America (BMEI) is a report commissioned by UPS that surveyed executives from some of the leading small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from eight countries in Latin America. The study was carried out by conducting in-depth interviews, analyzing the best export practices implemented by the selected SMEs in the areas of logistics, planning and market research, pricing, products, financing, and promotion and communications. The results of this study are based on the solid experience of the interviewees in the export trade industries.
The UPS Business Monitor™ Export Index Latin America was developed to gain better understanding on what successful business measures are being used by SME export market leaders in Latin America. The BMEI took a qualitative approach, seeking to describe how these factors for successful exporting contributed to the growth of these SMEs. The 8 countries included in the survey were Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, Peru and the Dominican Republic.
The report is intended to serve as a blueprint for such companies that desire to expand its business to foreign markets or to grow their existing export network.
