About UPS

D. Scott Davis

Chairman and Former UPS Chief Executive Officer

"Innovation, execution and growth capture the UPS of yesterday, today and tomorrow. It is a simple formula for our past successes and a roadmap for the future. "

Scott Davis serves as non-executive chairman of UPS. Davis previously served as chairman and chief executive officer between 2008 and 2014, and retired as CEO on Sept. 1, 2014 as part of a previously announced succession plan.

Under Davis's leadership, UPS made significant improvements in its logistics network, expanding its reach and capabilities through Europe, Asia, and the Americas. He also presided over rapid growth in international operations, supply chain and freight.

In 2010, Davis led a strategic transformation of the company's U.S. small package organizational structure. He also guided UPS's growth as a sustainability leader, improving the fuel efficiency of the UPS air and ground fleet and deploying the industry's largest alternative fuel fleet.

Davis is a leading advocate for increased global trade and export growth. In 2010, he joined the President's Export Council, the principal national advisory committee on international trade.

Davis serves on the boards of Honeywell International, Inc., Johnson & Johnson and EndoChoice. In September 2014, President Obama appointed Davis to the President's Intelligence Advisory Board, which provides the president with an independent source of advice on the effectiveness with which the Intelligence Community is meeting the nation's intelligence needs. He also serves as a trustee of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, and is a member of The Carter Center Board of Councilors.  He previously served as chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.

Prior to being named chairman and CEO, he was vice chairman and chief financial officer. Davis joined UPS in 1986 when the company acquired II Morrow, an Oregon aviation technology company where he was CEO.

A native of Oregon, Davis earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Portland State University.
