Business Monitor Latin America

Abstract:

This UPS Business Monitor Latin America (BMLA), now in its fourth edition, provides an outlook on the current opinions, attitudes and trends among the business leaders of the small and medium size companies (SMEs) in the Region. The results of this study are based on the solid experience of the interviewees in the world of industry and trade.

The objective of the BMLA is to provide business executives and professionals alike with a better understanding of the factors driving business decisions and strategies in Latin America. This study covers the main issues that affect business executives: from the impact of the recent financial crisis and its recovery, to the business and global trade environment, to environmental matters, among others. It measures the pulse of SMEs, identifies their investment priorities and the obstacles they are facing.

The study also covers other matters of interest like the traits most valued by suppliers and the main issues in the supply chain, what business people most enjoy about work and what their main concerns are, as well as personnel issues pertaining to the current employment and advancement of women in the work place.

The BMLA is similar to the UPS Business Monitor Europe, which has been published annually since 1992, the UPS Business Monitor Asia, published since 2004, the UPS Business Monitor Canada which started in 2007 and the USA Business Monitor, now in its second year.
