UPS Appoints Two Women to Key Posts in Europe

, April 30, 2008

Romaine Seguin To Manage Europe Region Operations; Cindy Miller To Lead South Europe District

Romaine Seguin, a 25-year veteran of UPS (NYSE:UPS) who has been leading the company's South Europe District, has been promoted to vice president of operations for UPS's entire Europe Region. In her new role, Seguin will be responsible for small package operations in 47 countries and territories throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa

Cindy Miller, a 20-year veteran of UPS who headed the Metro Chicago District, has been named vice president of operations for the company's South Europe District. In her new role, Miller will be responsible for small package operations throughout Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, the Balkans, the Middle East and Africa.

"These appointments not only illustrate UPS's commitment to a diverse workforce, but our strong culture of promoting from within," said Dan Brutto, president of UPS International. "They have each served on the front lines of the UPS package business for more than 20 years, acquiring the knowledge needed to effectively run this growing region and ultimately better serve the needs of our customers."

A native of Missouri, Seguin started her UPS career in the Missouri District in 1983 as a part-time hub supervisor. She held a variety of staff and operational assignments in Missouri and was later promoted to manager.

In 1989, Seguin accepted a five-year assignment to Europe as part of an integration team as UPS expanded its operations there, residing in the UK and France. Since then, she has held a variety of management positions throughout the UPS organization, including promotion to Gulf South District Manager in 2001 and Minnesota District Manager in 2004.

A native of Tamaqua, Pa., Miller began her career with UPS in 1988 as a package car driver in Allentown. She soon earned a promotion to industrial engineering supervisor and later served as a package center supervisor in the same location.

Miller has worked in a variety of management assignments in the field and at the UPS Corporate Office in Atlanta, including internal audit and compliance. She was promoted to Central Pennsylvania package division manager in 1995 and later served in that capacity in the Metro Philadelphia and West Long Island Districts. Miller was promoted to vice president of operations for the Prairie Mountain District in Omaha in 2001 and assumed her most recent post in Chicago in 2004.
