125 Fredericton youth to receive free tennis instruction and racquet
With spring almost over and summer just around the corner, it's time to serve up some fun for your kids and register them for UPS Kids' Tennis Day!
Registration for the free kids' tennis clinic begins Monday, May 25, at 9:00 a.m. Call the Capital Region Tennis Association at (506)458-1700. The first 125 children, between the ages of five and 13, will secure spots at this year's event on Saturday, June 13.
"Sponsoring Kids' Tennis Day brings out the child in each of us," said Shelley Gares, vice president of Brokerage for UPS Canada. "When we arrive to set up on Saturday morning we're just as excited as the kids. It's just not summer without UPS Kids' Tennis Day."
2009 marks the fourth year UPS has sponsored Kids' Tennis Day. The event will be held on Saturday, June 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is an entertaining morning of tennis activity for players of all levels. Children will benefit from professional on-court instruction. All participants will get to practice their tennis skills with a new tennis racquet, courtesy of UPS Canada.
If the sun is shining, UPS Kids' Tennis Day will be held at Wilmot Park Tennis Court, with a rain location of Nashwaaksis Field House.
Kids' Tennis Day is a Building Tennis Communities (BTC) program run by Tennis Canada. The event is organized in Fredericton by UPS, the Capital Region Tennis Association and the City of Fredericton.
"UPS Kids' Tennis Day is a phenomenal event for youth in our area and each year the spots fill up quickly," said Rose Arsenault of the Capital Region Tennis Association. "Make sure it's on your calendar to register your children Monday morning!"
