New Applications let you Ship, Track and Locate UPS everywhere you go
UPS (NYSE:UPS) announced today the Canadian introduction of two UPS Mobile™ Apps for BlackBerry® and Android™ as well as an enhanced new mobile application for all smartphone users.
The UPS Mobile App for BlackBerry is available from BlackBerry AppWorld™ and for Android from the Android Market. These free Apps were developed exclusively for use on the BlackBerry and Android phones.
The two new Apps don't require the user to log in for tracking, finding locations, rating and transit information. But a user can log in to see a history of tracked shipments that automatically refreshes each time the App is opened. In addition, UPS tracking numbers can be nicknamed for quick reference (so users don't need to remember or type long codes).
Users can also log in to access their My UPS Address Book and user Preferences stored on UPS.com® to quickly create a shipment and generate shipping labels, which can be e-mailed for printing. Once the label is printed, use the App's "Locations" feature to easily find the nearest drop-off location.
UPS Canada also has a new UPS Mobile website, which is optimized for use with any phone with web-browsing capabilities. Users can now visit m.ups.com at anytime, anywhere. While UPS has been offering mobile tracking since 2008, this new enhanced website also allows the user to send shipments and find a UPS location.
"UPS Mobile is a great complement to the UPS brand because - just like our drivers - mobile technology is about efficiency, access and convenience," said Wayne Bosch, vice-president of customer solutions at UPS Canada. "These new Apps, in addition to our mobile website, offer unsurpassed mobile accessibility and places UPS at the fingertips of our busy customers."
