UPS Delivers 2500 lbs of Surgical Supplies Where Needed Most
In July, UPS Air Cargo delivered 2500 lbs of orthopedic, surgical and medical supplies for Operation Rainbow and the surgeries of children in Managua, Nicaragua. Using those supplies, Operation Rainbow expected to complete 60 orthopedic surgeries for children with severe disfigurements.

Operation Rainbow organizes, funds, and oversees volunteer surgical teams that provide free facial and orthopedic reconstructive surgery to children in medically underserved countries. The organization started its humanitarian work in 1979 and has been consistent in sending volunteer teams to areas where the surgeries they perform are not available for needy children. The surgical teams correct everything from cleft palates and clubfeet, to burn and accident victims that were poorly treated.

Since 2002, UPS has completed four moves for Operation Rainbow.
