UPS Global Volunteer Week At-A-Glance

“United as One: Making a Difference”

What:

UPS employees from around the world collectively will dedicate more than a decade of volunteer time - over 100,000 hours - in just one week during the company’s fourth annual UPS Global Volunteer Week. The event began in 2003 to extend the company’s legacy of volunteerism internationally.

When: October 14-22, 2006
Who: More than 20,000 UPS employees at all levels are planning to participate. CEO Mike Eskew will lead a 5K fundraising walk in Atlanta, Ga., for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Where:

UPS employees in 50 countries will volunteer with a range of nonprofit organizations.

Why: UPS has a long-standing commitment to giving back through volunteer service and responsible business practices in the communities of more than 200 countries and territories in which it operates.
Nonprofit Partners: UPS employees in each participating location select partners and volunteer activities to best serve the area’s specific needs. UPS will partner with close to 200 nonprofit organizations and schools in communities around the world.
Volunteer Activities: Worldwide activities planned for the 2006 event include delivering meals to the elderly, landscaping and renovating a children’s shelter, building and painting houses and managing logistics for health-related fundraising walks.

Sharing Volunteer Stories:

New for this year’s event, UPS employees will share their volunteer experiences from around the globe using Flickr, an online photo sharing service.
