e-Commerce Visibility Solutions

UPS leverages the Internet to provide customers visibility into their business processes, allowing them to provide better customer service and more efficiently manage their supply chains:

  • Tracking - a tracking service on ups.com available since 1995 gives customers instant 24-hour access to tracking information on specific packages. UPS currently receives an average of 9.1 million online tracking requests per day.

  • UPS Signature Tracking - an enhanced tracking service on ups.com gives authorized customers instant 24-hour access to tracking information on specific packages, with a signature image for proof of delivery.

  • Quantum ViewSM - a suite of three visibility services that give customers proactive status information about UPS shipments. The services can be used separately.

    • Quantum View Manage - a Web-based application that allows customers to view shipment information for multiple accounts without a tracking number. Users can create customized views of shipment history for outbound and 3rd party billed shipments (inbound is available using LIDS-Locations IDs) and can receive e-mail shipment status and/or download selected shipment data.

    • Quantum View Data - delivers proactive critical package status updates via data files over the Internet for customers’ and suppliers’ inbound and/or outbound packages. Data files are delivered via the web in .csv, .txt., or XML formats and are easy to integrate into internal software applications or databases. This service targets large customers who want to integrate this data into their own ERP, CRM or other systems.

    • Quantum View Notify™ - delivers proactive critical package status updates via e-mail. This service targets customers who want UPS to proactively notify interested parties about critical package status updates for some or all of their packages.

Supply Chain Management

These solutions make shipping data easy to access, use and update. They enable a UPS customer to share shipping information throughout their company and with their customers.

  • Flex® Global View - provides UPS customers visibility of multimodal - air, ocean, ground and rail - transportation, purchase order, customs, and inventory management data via the Web. It also offers customers proactive notification of events they deem important in their daily business operations, from notification of an item held in customs to confirmation that a critical shipment is en route to their location.

  • UPS CampusShip™ - targets businesses in the legal, financial services, real estate, insurance, education and government segments, particularly those with numerous offices. CampusShip provides far-flung users the ability to process a label and ship from any computer with Internet access, while also providing company-administered control of shipping service levels and cost center billing. CampusShip is used by thousands of companies, and earlier this year became available in 24 countries and territories.

  • UPS WorldShip® - UPS WorldShip® is available in 129 countries and 16 languages including English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Korean, Thai Chinese, Japanese, Traditional Chinese - HK, Traditional Chinese - TW

  • UPS OnLine®Tools - available in 46 countries, allow customers to integrate UPS tracking, rates and service selection, time in transit, quick-cost calculator, address validation and signature tracking into their business processes from customer service to accounts receivable. Today more than 200,000 customers worldwide are using UPS Tools.

  • UPS ReturnsSMon the Web - an advanced online returns solution to simplify returns processing for businesses and consumers. The solution enables merchants to keep track of returns inventory while making the returns experience for consumers as easy as “log on, print label, log off.”

  • ConnectShip™ - a UPS subsidiary, offers shipping solutions for e-business and enterprise transportation management. ConnectShip software provides seamless access to shipping functionality throughout the order pipeline, from order entry to the warehouse and customer service.

Alliances

UPS develops alliances with world-class companies to improve business processes for customers.

  • Yahoo! integrated UPS OnLine Tools for Shipping, Tracking, Rates and Service Selection and Address Validation within Yahoo! Small Business providing merchants an easy and cost effective way to process and ship orders. Additionally, high volume Yahoo! merchants have access to import and export processing into UPS WorldShip®, eliminating address key entry and allowing merchants to easily download customer orders.

  • UPS integrated online shipping services into eBay’s Web site. This is the first time a transportation company has established a shipping center in an online marketplace to simplify transactions between buyers and sellers. UPS has integrated a UPS Service Center and contributed to a Shipping Education Center to bring logistics information where it’s needed most, the point of transaction.

  • PayPal has integrated the UPS OnLine Shipping Tool into its Web site making the order fulfillment process easier and more accurate for buyers and sellers. For the first time, shipping tools are seamlessly integrated into the payment process for an online exchange.

  • ERP (enterprise resource planning) market leaders SAP and Oracle collaborated with UPS to develop seamless solutions they cannot offer on their own: UPS Intelliverse for SAP and Oracle. UPS Intelliverse allows users to track packages, rate and select from a wide range of UPS services, validate addresses, calculate UPS time-in-transit and obtain proof of delivery from within SAP and Oracle solutions.

  • Best Software integrated UPS OnLine Tools to provide small business customers with the ability to calculate shipping rates, process shipments, and track packages all from within Peachtree Accounting 2005 product line.
