Stan Deans, President, UPS Global Logistics and Distribution Request a speaker

Stan began his UPS career in 1983 as a package handler in Wisconsin. He was promoted to full-time management in 1987 and went on to hold positions of increasing responsibility with UPS in Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

In 2005, Stan became the Region District Coordinator for UPS in Europe and was responsible for operations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. In 2008, he was named president of the Illinois District. He assumed the position as president of the UPS Central Region in January 2012. In April 2013, Stan joined the Corporate Domestic Operations team as the US Operations Manager. In May 2015 Stan was assigned as the UPS Global Logistics and Distribution president.

During his tenure in the Central Region, Stan worked diligently in shaping the leadership culture to effectively lead a large domestic operating unit post-transformation. He has focused on transforming the way the management team leads in larger geographic business units to ensure a positive, creative and innovative environment for Central Region employees to excel. His leadership was instrumental in helping the Central Region and the organization meet its goals in end-to-end service for 2012. The region also successfully improved operating leverage, operating margin and profit year over year. The Central Region led the way in beating cost per piece to the plan in 2012 and versus 2011. And, under Stan’s leadership, the region was also successful in coming in under plan for Workers’ Compensation and Auto BEAR costs by meeting injury and auto frequency goals for the year.

Stan holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He also completed the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France and the Wharton Executive Development Program. He serves on the board of directors for the Chicago Urban League and Chicago United.

Stan and his wife, Cynthia, live in Atlanta with their three daughters, Bria, Myka and Jai.
